I don't want a hard game but I definitely could play something a bit more complex.Īlso, I like realistic/modern worlds a lot more than medieval fantasy stuff but I'm open to anything with heart, creativity and a little respect for my time. One thing I felt was a little lacking with Chrono Trigger was the battles, mainly that they got way too easy for me. If a game has a great beginning but falls apart after 20 hours I'd be cool with something like that too The key is that I want something well-paced where you get a lot of the good stuff (story, characters, cool monsters, maybe even interesting battle mechanics and level ups) quickly. Just to clarify, I'm ok with playing a 60 hours long game, (though I would prefer something I could beat quickly enough for me to appreciate the whole story). As a kid I started lots of RPGs and never came close to beating them so recommending stuff even if it is well known is ok Chrono Trigger composer Yasunori Mitsuda teased his next project’s arrival amid rumours of a Chrono Cross remake. Do you know of other games that feel like this? The only one I can think of is SMRPG and Parasite Eve. At 8 hours in (which is like a 3rd of the game) I felt like I had experienced as much story, characters and cool monster designs as a complete 60+ hour game. Following 'Live Alive' and 'Dragon Quest III in HD-2D', we can expect to see more popular titles from the Square and Enix era released in 'HD-2D'. Well I finally saw all that crazy stuff I never could see before and loved it! In particular I loved how quickly the story moved and showed you stuff. The 'HD-2D' remake is a new direction for remakes and ports that can add a new appeal to games without losing the atmosphere of the dot pictures. Then Super Mario RPG came out later and taught me how RPGs worked and I picked up Chrono Trigger again, this time really getting into it but I never could figure out what to do after you meet Gaspar for the first time! I got Chrono Trigger when I was 5 years old from my dad, couldn't figure it out.
